2018 Pop Up Prom Sale

Ashton Pruitt dress sale pop up prom prom prom dress prom dresses

OH MY GOODNESS. It is hard to believe that it is already that time of year again. After much success, last year we worked very very hard to ensure that our "Pop Up Prom Sale" was a hit; and indeed it was. Our phone has already been ringing for more details on how folks can consign their dresses or buy. WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS YEARS BIG EVENT!

We will be making a few changes this year though as we learned A LOT from last year's big sale. This year we will be adding an exclusive shopping night just for our consignors. This will be a private event for our girls and exclusive to VIPs. This is just a way for us to say thank you for bringing us a gorgeous dress and hopefully giving you the first chance to buy one. Not in the market for one? You will be able to give your ticket to someone who is! Tickets are transferable and we will also be selling an extremely small amount of VIP passes for our "VIP Pop Up Prom  Sale."

Another change this year... we will be extremely up front with you. Not that we weren't last year... because believe me we shot consignors straight and turned some older dresses away.  However, if your dress is more than 6-7 years old... and even if you really really think it will sell... chances are it probably will not. That is an extremely hard pill to swallow. I know. Based on last years sales and what our current girls are looking for we want quality items in our sale that are newer. We do not need a bunch of 10 year old dresses taking up space.

Finally, we feel like this should go without saying but it happened last year. So we need to be open about this. Our time is money.

Buyers: If we help you find the perfect dress, you then try it on and then you either-

A. Place it on "Hold" and do not return

(No holds whatsoever this year. We only did this for two dresses last year. One girl, returned and looked stunning in her prom dress she got from us. The other girl didn't. Even though we told her it would only be on hold for an hour. Granted it was just my sister's dress so it wasn't the end of the world. We are not going to miss out on a sale. Our consignors are depending on us to sell their dresses so unless it is being tried on by someone, it will be on display on the floor. If you are on the fence or whatever; it goes on the floor. Period. Bring money and/or a camera to send pics to whoever you need approval from when you come. LOL)

B. Do not purchase from us, chance it, find out who consigned that dress, and then purchase it from them after our sale....

If It is brought to our attention you along with the consignor will be banned from selling/buying from future Pop Up Prom Sales. It isn't right to us. We invested time in you as a buyer. You prevented us from helping someone else. Consignors -We basically sold the dress to that person and gave you the avenue and advertising to do so. Its not fair.

With all of that said-

With our new additions to the madness, we can't wait for the sale this year! It's hard to sell a dress you wore for 4 hours that originally cost $600. Really hard. Used prom dresses often get pushed back to the closet, and then 10 years later... Here you are with three prom dresses that aren't even in style. You might as well cut them up and make a blingy table cloth out of them or save them and let your kids play dress up! However, if you want to get rid of them this is a great opportunity and a simple chance for you to do just that.

How this works- Southern Savvy will move all of our merchandise from one side of the store to the other. This sounds crazy, but it will be half boutique half prom store for 4 fabulous days.

Rules:

Dresses must be 5 years old or less.

No "bridesmaid" or "wedding" style dresses are permitted for this event. (None of these type of dresses sold last year to girls so let's just save our time and energy here.)

All consignors must pay $5 stocking fee per dress.

(Stocking fee includes steaming dress, getting it "sale" ready, housing, storage, and transmission of sale. The stocking fee must be paid in cash when you bring your items.) We can not run our credit/debit card machine for this.

Southern Savvy reserves the right to turn away any dress for any reason.

Southern Savvy reserves the right to end/stop the consigning period prior to the sale. This would only happen if we exceed the volume that we are able to hold. This did not happen last year but we still reserve that right.

Southern Savvy gets 30% of the profit if the dress sold and consignor gets 70%.

Consignor assumes risk during the event of any missing stones, frays, small rips. SS will take very good care of dresses and assist girls trying on merchandise. We will ensure they are properly fitted and the correct size before and while trying on to prevent any malfunction. However, SS but is not held responsible.

We will help you come up with a fair market price depending on the condition. We of course want you to get what you want out of it but also "want" sometimes might be unrealistic for a used dress. So, we will have an "asking" price on tags. When you bring your dress to the store, we will go in more detail. The cheapest dress last year sold for $25. The most expensive sold for $450. -All it takes is the right buyer and seller!

Consignor agrees to help promote the "Prom Pop Up Sale" via social media (facebook/instagram/snapchat) The more buyers we have... the more likely your dress will sell!

All sales final. MUST PAY CASH.

All unsold dresses and payouts must be picked up at Southern Savvy Monday, March 19th by 6 PM.

Beginning Monday February 26th we are taking dresses in for consignment during our business hours (Monday-Friday 10-6 Saturday 10-4) up until NOON Wednesday, March 14th. (the day before the VIP sale.)

Our Pop Up Prom Dress event will be heavily promoted to all area schools. We want everyone to come or consign. We don't care where you are from... we just want you here!

Event Schedule:

VIP Night: Thursday, March 15th (5-8 PM)

Public Sale: Friday & Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM Sunday 1-4 PM

VIP Sale Passes will be given (for free) to consignors when you bring your dress. Passes can be purchased here. VIP Night will also consist of light refreshments and prom swag bags for our young ladies. We will only have a limited number of sale passes for purchase so if you are not consigning but want to come we encourage you to buy a ticket asap! Tickets are $10 each.

*VIP Ticket Sales will be donated to Greenbrier High School's After Prom this year on behalf of Southern Savvy.
